The Dover Demon

The Dover Demon

The Dover Demon is a mysterious creature that was reportedly sighted in Dover, Massachusetts, in April 1977. The first sighting occurred on the night of April 21, when 17-year-old William "Bill" Bartlett claimed to have seen a creature with glowing orange eyes and a watermelon-shaped head while driving along Farm Street. The creature was described as being about four feet tall, with no nose or mouth, and long, spindly arms and fingers.

Later that same evening, 15-year-old John Baxter reported seeing a similar creature on Miller Hill Road. The following night, another 15-year-old, Abby Brabham, claimed to have seen the creature on Springdale Avenue. All three teenagers drew sketches of the creature, which showed a consistent description of its appearance.

The sightings were investigated by various groups, including the Mutual UFO Network, although no UFOs were reported in connection with the creature. Some skeptics have suggested that the sightings could have been a hoax or a misidentification of a known animal, such as a snowy owl.
